G-R's cd is .27? Wow!

It is brilliantly and unashamedly Japanese in its design – a German or French manufacturer just wouldn’t make a car look like this. With its bold lines and riot of creases, it fits into the Tokyo atmosphere perfectly, yet it’s also aerodynamically tidy, with a drag coefficient of Cd 0.27

I also saw this in an article listed right here on GTRforums.

This car certainly does NOT look that slick! I expected a .35 or so. A .27 is simply astonishing. I guess the aero guys knew what they were doing!

Yes, but the total aerodynamic resistance of a car is its Coefficient of Drag (Cd) times its frontal area (A). So, while the GT-R's profile is very efficient, its frontal area is very large for a sportscar, so its overall aerodynamic drag is only average. If the car was significantly smaller (especially narrower), it would go well over 200mph with its high power.

For instance, a Porsche 997 GT3 has only 415hp and also goes about 193mph (same as GT-R) and it's Cd is around .33
