While a 3.5 is puzzling based on the HP and weight. All the items working for it that have been mentioned such as: weight bias, very good DSG, AWD grip, and a potent engine. In addition to this, I am sure they used a launch technique that gets it out of the hole on boost. I would not be wildly surprised if the HP were under estimated. This was also probably achieved in absolutely optimal environmental factors
That said, there are plenty of less power rwd cars that pulled off 4.0 0-60 times. Yes slightly less weight (400ish less), but with standard gearboxes and no launch control. So while its seems overly impressive to us, it may become more the standard for this next generation of premium sports cars. Basically, 3 is the new 4...hehehe
