Cool GT racing in NA

We all know about Seabring and all the other great road tracks in the US. So I won't bore you with my slant on them. What I'd like to know, and believe me I've asked, why is it that Canada can't get any good GT race events? I've never gotten any answer that makes sence!
Cheers

Maybe one reason is the type of sponsorship that each team carries. I think Canada has strict rules on tobacco / alcohol advertising when it comes to Motorsports.

I know that F1 had issues with the no tobacco / alcohol advertising rule, which actually caused F1 to cancel its visit to Montreal in 2003.

In 2004, F1 finally made it to Montreal but most of the cars that had tobacco / alcohol sponsorship had to cover up their advertisers/sponsors name.

Granted this holds true for the F1 and CART and so on, but would that be true of JGTC and D1? This is the kind of entertainment I'm talking about! Open wheel sucks, and Nascar ain't much better!

It could also be that the race series isn't as popular in canada. If it isn't as popular then tickets won't sell as much.
