Aloha from Hawaii
Greetings from the middle of the Pacific Ocean,
I just got my Gun Metallic GTR Premium a few weeks ago.
Oct 30 my son was driving the family 2008 Honda Fit Sport through a green light near home and collided with a speeding (DUI) Mitsubishi Montero that ran a red. My son was not injured but the front of the FIT was destroyed and declared totaled.
Oct 31 I closed a deal with my local dealership to purchase a 2009 GTR that has just arrived to the dealer 5 days earlier. The deal had fallen through with the previous buyer that was away on a trip to Europe and could not be reached. He had been interested and in contact with the dealership for two months.
I called monday morning about 1150am then got a call from the salesman a few minutes later saying that the GTR he was waiting to get later in the month had just arrived. I drove over right away and saw them unwrapping it. Since no one had claims on it I was invited to sit in it and start up the engine- very rare since most GTRs are spoken for in my area.
Took delivery on 11/4 and been driving about 300 miles so far. A very solid and powerful car. Easy to drive for street use and very happy at higher speeds and on turns. Overall mpg about 21-22 and as high as high 20s to low 30s on the highway.
I get lots of looks and some people pull out cameras to take pictures (while they drive).
Most GTRs in my area sell for 10K over MSRP. None of the local dealers are taking any orders as of mid Oct. This is the end of the model year and the last of the orders already done will come in by Dec or Jan. No new orders are being accepted for 2010 yet and new pricing is unknown but rumored to be 5% higher than the last MSRP (increased 10% on Sept 5).
Good luck to all those that are still looking for a 2009.
