Question Bigger than the others

I was surfing thru a bunch of car fact sites a while back ago, and came up on an interesting stat., and perhaps someone can give me a reason for it.
Durring the relm of the R32 the wheel base was 103.0 inches. The R33 came in at 107.1 inches, an then comes the R34 back down to 104. Now, I know that we're only talking 5 inches difference, and that most of you say that I'm spliting hairs ( my wife does anyways ), but does any one know why Nissan did this.
I'm just wondering...
Cheers,
Jim

A car with a long wheelbase has better high speed stability, and acceleration stability, but sacrifices in handling.

So when it comes right down to it, will 5 inches make a difence in speed vs. handling? ( no cheep shots pls!)

Yes, of course it will. I will say the R33 is much better at top speed runs than the R32, but the R32 is much better for the turns IMHO

5 inches is a huge difference in wheelbase. I remember building a mustang drag car, and lengthining the wheelbase 1.75 inches. It made a huge difference.

so, ok, 5 inches does make a difference. How many of us would choose a R33 over a R32?
