Its not like Mario will be able to keep up with the fastest RWD cars, for that matter any AWD cars in the world will ever, repeat ever be able to beat a RWD in the 1/4.

Here are 60ft times for the avg Mustang guys:

1.51 with a C4 with 3500 4.10 gears, 90/10's, 50/50's, lower control arms

1.43 on 26X10 M/T ET Drags

1.46 with 10"X28" DOT Hoosier Quick Time Pro

1.33 with Mickey 28 X 13.5 ET Streets

1.37 with 3.55 gear , 4200 dynamic converter , 10.5x28 m/t slicks

1.310 with 5 speed TKO 4.10 gears, 15x10 Monocoque MT 28x10.5 ET Drags

1.31 w/ UPR both ft and rear MT Drag Radials

1.28 60 foot on a 325/50R15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radial

Those are all different Mustangs, so when does an AWD car have the advantage? Just because you have raced Mustangs that spin their tires, means you are racing against guys that either do not know how to drive, or the car is not set up right. My LX that I just sold on street tires would only run low 13s, with slick high 11s.

AWD does not give you an advantage, infact its more of a disadvantage, its just a crutch for cars that cannot plant the power do to the limited space for tire width. That is why I will be installing fender flares, so I can install 12" wide tires for the street, not to mention it will look cool. In complete street trim, the AWD is king, but running a proper 1/4 it is not.

By the way this last weekend, the top speed for TF is over 330mph now, I would like to see an AWD get within 100mph of that

Cheers,
Tony

yes, you have done your homework. awesome. that is good info you have provided.
a disadvantage of AWD, as stated, is that you cannot run huge slicks; you are limited to basically street and/or smaller tires. for street setup, as we seem to agree: AWD has a huge advantage.

there are also FWD "funny cars" out there, but even though they are extremely fast, they cannot match RWD. keep us updated about your GT-R. it will be one incredible beast.

See, weight transfer is what you are looking for when setting up the 1/4, so I would never, ever consider a FWD car either. There is a Honda in the 6s I believe, but it is still limited by physics.

ford V-8 RWD in a Skyline?! Blasphemy!
you're taking out everything that makes a skyline a skyline.
this hurts to read.

Considering The GTR I got was stripped of eveything except the dash, wheels, and body. I am bring this car back from the dead. To install a complete GTR drive train, it would have cost me double, the price to run a proper American power plant. Plus if I can get more power out of the V8 for the cash

Those are cool, I like the red one as well. I have seen a few R32s in Blue, and they look awesome as well.

I think I have the color. Its going to be white, since I will not have any AC, that would be the best choice for me, but with a deep blue pearl to match the engine and the Corbuea CR1 seat that I have, along with the C2 gauges. It should look pretty cool.
